What are you Searching for?

What was the last thing you Googled? It's possible it was something along the lines of [How to advertise for my small business?] or [takeout lunch near me]. The average internet user utilizes Google search on average 3.5 times per day.  These searches range from finding a plumber, deciding where to take your date, to planning the perfect vacation (anyone excited to travel again?).  Either way, chances are you were looking for information on something you would eventually open your wallet for.

Now more than ever it is important for marketing to be precise, and efficient.  At Surf Rider Media, we believe Search provides the most efficient marketing for any small business, and an essential tactic given today’s digital-first world.

In fact, according to eMarketer 35% of product searches start on Google, and 30% of mobile searches are looking for nearby solutions. A simple adjustment to include “near me” in your keywords increases the likelihood that you will get noticed, and visited, giving increased importance to your auction strategy. For those businesses not reliant on customer visits Search provides the opportunity to drive users to a specific landing page that matches exactly what that consumer was looking for. Talk about a custom experience!  A small business that doesn’t take advantage of this real-time audience is not only missing out but yielding to their savvier competitors.

Search has become the most efficient direct response tool in the history of marketing.  At its most basic level, Search provides precise targeting to users who are showing intent for your product. Add in the various layers of targeting available to ensure you are serving the right message, to the right customer, and you have a tool that needs to be incorporated into your business. No other medium provides the opportunity to speak directly to an audience that is actively “searching” for your product or its competitors.

You know your customer better than anyone, but if you are not utilizing Search there is a good chance that they don’t know you!
