AI Visibility Tools Compared:

AI visibility tools run a set of questions through ChatGPT, Gemini, Google and other AI engines on a schedule and tell you whether your brand was named. Peec AI, Profound, Scrunch and Semrush all do that. They differ in which engines they cover, how many brands they handle and what they cost, and none of them fixes anything for you. We compare them using each vendor's own pages, checked October 13, 2026, alongside our own audit, which we label as ours.

The short answer

  • All four track mentions, competitors and cited sources. Starting prices run from $95 to $250 a month, except Profound, which does not publish one.
  • Choose by engines covered, prompt count and number of brands, not dashboard looks.
  • Tools tell you that you are missing. They do not rewrite your site. If you have not measured yet, an audit with a fix list is the better first step.

What AI visibility tools do

An AI visibility tool automates a check you could do by hand. You give it questions, which vendors call prompts, such as "best accountant for a small restaurant in Tacoma". It asks them in each AI engine every day or week and records the results. Most then show you:

  • Mentions: how often your brand is named across your prompts.
  • Share of voice: your mentions compared with each competitor's.
  • Citations: which pages and sites the engine used to build the answer.
  • Sentiment: how the engine describes you.

AI answers change from run to run, so the measure that matters is presence across repeated runs. We explain how to improve it in our guide to improving your visibility in AI search engines.

Which tool fits which job

We have not picked a winner, because the right tool depends on the job. Here is how we would match them:

  • Best for published agency pricing: Peec AI, which lists both brand plans and agency plans with dollar figures.
  • Best if you already pay for Semrush: the AI Visibility Toolkit.
  • Best for AI crawler data and site fixes: Scrunch, which pairs prompt tracking with bot traffic and site audits.
  • Best for large brands and many engines: Profound, which sells custom plans covering up to nine engines.
  • Best if you want fixes, not only tracking: our AI Visibility Audit, with monthly or quarterly re-checks that show what moved. It is our own service, so weigh this line accordingly.

For agencies and multi-brand teams

Agencies need one login for many clients, client access that hides other accounts, and reports that carry their brand. Peec AI and Scrunch have the most developed agency setups: Peec AI sells agency plans from $245 a month with client projects, client seats and shareable dashboards, and Scrunch runs an agency program with client guest access. We cover white-label options in our guide to AI search visibility for agencies.

How to choose an AI visibility tool

  • Engines your buyers use. A local business may need ChatGPT and Google first. A software company may want Perplexity and Claude too.
  • Prompts and how they are counted. Fifty prompts on three engines is a smaller job than five hundred on eight. Ask how each repeat run is counted.
  • Raw answers and exports. You should be able to read what the engine actually said.
  • Brands and seats. Count the brands you manage, and what each extra one costs.
  • Price per prompt, not per month. Divide the plan price by the prompts and engines included.
  • Trial. Test your own prompts before you pay.

What the tools do not do

A dashboard shows the gap. Someone still has to close it.

  • They do not edit your site. Several now suggest actions, such as which sources name competitors and not you. The page rewrites, outreach and fixes are still your work.
  • They do not choose your questions. You supply the prompts. Weak prompts produce a tidy chart that measures the wrong thing.
  • They do not remove variance. AI answers shift between runs, so read trends over weeks, not a single day.
  • They do not know your business. They cannot say which gap to close first.

A tool or a one-time audit first?

A tool earns its subscription when you already know your prompts, you have fixes underway and someone will check the data weekly. A one-time audit fits the step before that, when you do not yet know who the engines name or which sources they trust. Twelve months of Peec AI's Starter plan is $1,140. Our AI Visibility Audit is $500 when booked by December 31 (regularly $1,000), asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews thirty buying questions, and ends with a fix list. If you want to see whether the fixes worked, the monthly plan re-runs the same questions every month for $150 after a $375 first audit, and the quarterly plan every three months for $300 after a $425 first audit. Each re-check shows which questions you gained or lost and how you moved against competitors. A daily tool earns its place later, once someone on your team reads it every week.

Where to start this week

  • Today: write 15 buyer questions, run each in ChatGPT and Google, and note who is named.
  • This week: run the free AI Readiness Check below and fix what it flags.
  • This month: if you want weekly tracking or manage many brands, trial one tool from the table on those same questions.

Free, about thirty seconds

See whether AI engines can read your site

The free AI Readiness Check reads your robots.txt and up to twenty pages the way an AI crawler would, then tells you what to fix first, including whether each search you care about has a page of its own. No email needed to see your score.

Want the full picture? The AI Visibility Audit asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews thirty of your buyers' questions and shows exactly who they name.

Common questions

What are AI visibility tools?

AI visibility tools ask AI engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews a set of questions on a schedule, then report whether your brand was named, which competitors were named instead, and which pages were cited.

What is an LLM visibility tool?

It is another name for the same thing: a tool that measures how often large language models such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude mention or cite your brand.

Which AI visibility tool is best?

It depends on the job. Peec AI publishes brand and agency prices. Semrush makes sense if you already use it for SEO. Scrunch adds AI crawler analytics and an agency program. Profound targets larger brands with custom plans.

How much do AI visibility tools cost?

Among the four tools compared here, published starting prices on October 13, 2026 ran from $95 a month (Peec AI) to $250 a month (Scrunch). Profound does not publish a self-serve price. Check plan limits, not just the headline number.

How do I track brand mentions in ChatGPT without a tool?

Write 15 to 20 questions your buyers ask, run each one in ChatGPT a few times, and record whether you are named, who is named instead, and which sources ChatGPT cites. A spreadsheet is enough.

Do I need an AI visibility tool or an audit?

If you have never measured your AI visibility, start with an audit: it tells you where you stand and what to fix. If you want the fixes checked over time, a monthly or quarterly re-check may be enough. A daily tool fits when someone on your team will act on the data every week.
